At TradeBlindsDirect, All our blinds are made to your precise measurements, so once you receive your blind you won't have any trouble fitting it.
First decide whether you would like the blind to hang inside the window recess, or over the front of the recess. If you are planning on hanging curtains as well as a blind, we would recommend that you fit the blind inside the recess of the window.

A blind measured inside the recess will have deductions from the width in order to allow for fittings at either end of the blind. Roller blinds have approximately 33mm deducted, other blinds will have 10mm deducted from their width.
Measuring inside the recess
The neatest way to hang your custom made blind is inside the window recess.
Width:
Accurately measure the inside of the window recess. It's best to take three measurements at the top, middle and bottom of the window frame. You may find that the window frame is not quite square in which case you need to provide us with the smallest measurement to ensure that the blind will fit. Ensure that your measurements are taken horizontally.
Drop:
Measure from the top of the recess to the bottom where you think the blind should sit when lowered.

A blind measured outside the recess will be made to precisely the measurements you entered onto the site.
Measuring outside the recess
This is the easiest way to fit your new blind if curtains will not be used on the window.
Width:
Measure the width of the window, and any excess you would like the blind to cover.
Drop:
Measure from where you would like to hang the blind down to where you think the blind should sit when lowered.
